Coagulation is defined as ability of blood to thicken (Clot) and stop bleeding from any injury.
This test detects this ability of blood only.
While reduced ability to clot can lead to severe or internal bleedings leading to blood loss,
increased ability to clot can lead to clot formation in blood vessels leading organ damage.
In this test we use three parameters PT, APTT and INR which together can detect disorder in
clot formation.

This test is also recommended before any surgical procedure and for people who are taking
blood thinning medications (Warfarin).
