HIV antibody testing is used to screen for and diagnose HIV infections. HIV virus causes Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). As per NACO guidelines, all the reactive samples will be tested by three different methods prior to release of report. The same will be charged sperately from the patient / client. All reactive results must be confirmed with a Western Blot Test.HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is the virus that causes AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). HIV progressively destroys the body's ability to fight infections and certain cancers. It weakens the immune system by infecting lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, that normally help the body fight infections. Specific lymphocytes known as T-helper cells or CD4 cells are major targets for HIV. The virus binds to CD4 cells, enters them, replicates inside them, and eventually kills them.
